Central India Slams OIC for Unwarranted Comments on Jammu and Kashmir Delimitation Exercise

India strongly criticized the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday for its unwarranted comments regarding the delimitation exercise in Jammu and Kashmir. India urged the OIC to refrain from advancing a communal agenda on behalf of a specific country, in an indirect reference to Pakistan.

The OIC’s criticism of India over the delimitation exercise in Jammu and Kashmir prompted a strong reaction from the Indian government.

“We are disappointed by the OIC secretariat’s unwarranted comments on India’s internal affairs,” said Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.

“The Government of India unequivocally rejects the assertions made by the OIC secretariat regarding the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India,” he added.

Bagchi’s comments came in response to media inquiries about the OIC’s statement on the delimitation exercise in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The OIC must refrain from pursuing its communal agenda towards India at the direction of a single country,” Bagchi emphasized.

The delimitation commission, responsible for redrawing parliamentary and assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, released its final report earlier this month.
